Users of SpamPal can extend its functionality by
installing Plug-ins! Some of these plugins may help you to catch spam that gets
through SpamPal's standard filters, but often carry an increased risk of
mistakes.
Download then double-click on the plugins to
install them in the "plugins" subdirectory within the SpamPal installation
directory. Then call call up the Options dialog and click "Enable" to
enable the plugin!

Bad Words (264k)
|
0.05 |
James Farmer |
A simple example plug-in designed to combat porn-spam. Messages
containing any "bad" words are automatically tagged as spam; the list
of "bad" words can be modified by the user. Very crude, and probably
makes lots of mistakes.
|
|
Bayesian
|
1.08 |
|
A plugin currently undergoing development, which uses the new
but increasingly popular tactic called
Bayesian filtering to detect
spam. In order to work effectively, this plugin must be trained to recognise
what is and isn't spam in your mailbox - then it will learn from its mistakes.
You can discuss this plugin, including any problems you encounter, in
its
forum.

|
Bonded Sender™
|
0.0.2 |
James Day |
The Bonded Sender™ plugin whitelists any email from an IronPort
Systems™ Bonder Sender™. Any mail you've personally blacklisted
isn't eligible and will still be treated as spam. This plugin could help prevent
some of your subscriptions and newsletters from being mistaken for spam.
|
|
Direct to MX Blocker
|
0.0.8 |
James Day |
This plugin tries to mark as spam messages sent directly to your mailserver by
a dyanmic IP address - most legitimate mail will use an intermediate mailserver
to forward this mail to your server. Please read (and understand) the supplied
Readme file, as this plugin can cause lots of mail to be mistaken for spam is
misconfigured.
|
|
Good Words
|
0.0.4 |
James Day |
A simple plugin that is in many ways the reverse of "BadWords" - you
give it a list of words and any email message that contains any of
those words will be whitelisted (ie never mistaken for spam).
|
|

|

Heiko Höbel |

Logfile
(283k)
|
1.7 |

SpamPal itself, and may be preferred by some people.
|
|
MXLookup
|
0.1 |
Peter Hultqvist |
This plugin check if the senders address is a valid address. This is done by
testing if it is possible to send an email to the address. However no email will be sent.
To use this plugin your ISP must allow you to use port 25(SMTP).
|
Notify
(366k)
|
1.7 |
Stephan Slabihoud |
This plugin plays a sound when you receive new mail, and a different
sound if you receive only spam.
|
|
Peer to Peer (P2P)
|
1 |
SpamSpector |
Uses DCC to detect
bulk email by seeing how many other people have received the same mail.
(This does not involve sending your email to a third-party.) Because this
detects all bulk mail and not just spam, it may be necessary to whitelist
any mailing lists you have opted-into.
|
Quarantine
(282k)
|
1.3 |
Stephan Slabihoud |
Every time you download a message SpamPal recognises as spam, this
plugin saves it into a special folder;
useful if you need to get at the original source of a spam in order to
track down a spammer.
|
RegEx Filter

|
3.0 |
Stephan Slabihoud |

|
|
Uncached DNSBL Lookups
|
0.0.4 |
James Day |
This plugin makes direct DNSBL queries to the fastest-changing backlists (the
DNSBL queries normally made by SpamPal are cached to improve performance; you can
change this from the 'Advanced' pane of the options dialog. The author suggests
you use a longer caching time for most blacklists and have one or two which change
quickly making uncached queries. Supports the SpamCop, Osirusoft, Easynet(Wirehub)
and NJABL blacklists.
|
URL-Body
(294k)
|
0.06 |
Paul Wright |
This plugin extends SpamPal to filter on not just where a message came
from, but any websites it mentions as well! Useful because many DNSBLs
list lots of spammers' websites. However, carries a greater risk of mistakes
too.
|
|
User Logfile
|
|
James Day |
Logs your incoming mail with lots of control for what gets logged. Defaults to
logging each email account in its own folder and logging only spam. Defaults
to saving a copy (quarantine) of the beginning of spam emails. Will log and
quarantine emails which are deleted directly from the server. Can stop logging
of whitelisted addresses. Puts spam and non-spam logs into different log files.
Fixed column widths are easy to scan or import into spreadsheets.
|
